Principal Landscape Architect

ESP Ltd is looking for a Principal Landscape Architect .

This role would suit a Chartered Landscape Architect (or an experienced Pathway candidate) who wants to work on large-scale and rural landscape projects at the cutting edge of biodiversity net gain, habitat creation and landscape resilience. The role is part-time or full-time , with hybrid working and a competitive salary.

Job Details

We need a landscape architect with a keen interest in the rural environment and/or the minerals and waste industry to join us. You would be managing projects from brief setting and quotation right through to completion and invoice. Your work would include:

  • Carrying out thorough site appraisals and surveys and all necessary research prior to proceeding with projects.
  • Preparing masterplans, concept designs, restoration plans and development designs for a range of projects.
  • Undertaking landscape and visual impact assessments, including desktop research, site and photographic surveys, identification of receptors, assessment of impacts and effects and preparation of mitigation and enhancement strategies.
  • Assisting the project team in the delivery of proposals to meet Biodiversity Net Gain legislation.
  • Preparing reports at a variety of scales and work stages, including preliminary landscape and visual appraisals, landscape strategies, maintenance and management plans and design and access statements.
  • On behalf of local planning authority clients, critically evaluating the landscape and visual aspects of proposed developments and provide clear, timely and evidence-based advice.
  • Assisting in the production of proofs of evidence for planning inquiries.
  • Working on rural landscape and major development projects.
