About ESP
Our approach is consistent across the whole business. We work together as a team in a business which has a flat structure, rather than a heavy top-down hierarchy. At our board meetings, everyone is present and we are all encouraged to have a voice and shape the business. This means that whilst we can all work flexibly in terms of time of day and location, we benefit from supporting each other, keeping in touch and acknowledging each other’s needs so we don’t feel isolated. We are all hard workers but are keen that we all sustain this through a good work-life balance. We have a well-being initiative called ‘Thrive’ which our employees tell us that they value.

ESP believes in a partnership approach to planning and designing sustainable landscapes. We work together with our clients, design teams and planning authorities to create solutions that add value to the development, the environment and wider society.  Our landscape projects are predominantly large-scale and rural where we are at the cutting edge of biodiversity net gain, habitat creation and landscape resilience for climate change. We also, unusually for a landscape practice, have specialist skills in landform modelling and visualisations due to our large minerals projects. We use our expertise in LVIA as part of the iterative design process: as a tool for ensuring that the development best responds to the unique details of its context and its stakeholders. We transfer all of these skills into other urban, suburban or smaller scale projects.
